Tapping into existing hydraulic pump to run a PTO motor

I don't think you can run the front hydraulics and rear hydraulic pto at the same time though.

I have a Mahindra 4510 that has 9.6GPM from the pump and 4.3GPM for the power steering. I was wondering if I could tap into the pressure line that feeds the 3 rear remotes, add a 'T' fitting and a hydraulic solenoid that I can turn on and off to power a front mount PTO motor.

1) Do I have enough flow to do this?
2) What size PTO motor should I get to run a 7ft finish mower?
3) What type/size solenoid should I buy?
4) If this isn't the thing to do, could I add a pump that is driven right off the crank? (18 spline, 1" output shaft on end of crank)

Are you cutting with full 7 ft on your finish mower?

Is this the same mower that swings around trees?

If yes I believe rule of thumb is around 5 HP per foot of cut and that varies depending on what you are cutting. Using hydraulic drive figure minimum of 15 % power loss so you would need approximately 40 Hp hydraulic input to run your mower.

For reference rule of thumb: 1 HP can produce 1 GPM @ 1,500 PSI
