Tatro / WR Long grapple combo install

/ Tatro / WR Long grapple combo install #11
Hi Mad,

I also use the Long solenoid system for my snow blade power angle, and it works well.

Couple of questions:

I see rods on the corners of the hydro cylinder and I have guesses for the purpose but rather than guess, what is their function?

If I am seeing the photo correctly, it looks like all it takes to jettison the jaw (in the event that you do not want the jaw on for a particular job) is pulling pins. Is that accurate?

I saw where you had to make your notch cuts. Do you think that is a universal (for my 5030 for instance) issue.

Minus the Long solenoid, how much will the grapple setup cost?

Thanx,

RFB

No problem. Just email me first to make sure I will be home.

( Would it have been possible to weld a short section of C or bar channel to the top of your bucket similar to the way my bucket is configured and mounted the grapple to that. It would seem like it would have raised the mounting point of the grapple up flush with the lip on the bucket and may alleviate your binding issue.)

If you raise the mount then you either have to have a longer grapple of make a bigger notch. Most grapple makers will make a grapple that is close to the distance from the bottom bucket lip to the top lip of your mount or bucket. I notched mine because I mounted it flush and behind the bucket roll lip. It's easier to show than explain.

I think you mean the ones connected lengthwise along the cylinder. They hold the tie rod cylinder together.

You disconnect the hoses at the QD bracket, pull the 2 grapple pins and the top pin that connects the cylinder to the base plate.

You may or may not have to notch. It all depends on you installation and how your grapple fits and how much closure you want.

$420 delivered from Andy for the grapple and a 2" x 6" cylinder. You supply hoses and fittings.

Is this the same unit on ebay? I sent the guy an email asking if I could just bolt it up and use the remotes on the rear of my tractor. Can you answer that for me by chance? If I can I am going to go on ahead and order it.

Great looking job there!

This particular unit is sold on eBay by seller htatro.

Yes you can use one of your rear remotes to control it. It will be a clumsy connection since you will have to run 2 hoses from the rear of the tractor to the front. It will also be awkward to operate both the loader and grapple simultaneously but it can be done.

Mad,

Thanks...one more question:

Where (do you have a link) do you obtain the protective nylon sheath for the hydro hoses?

thanx
