I was one of several who jumped all over Mark Chalkley's idea for a magnetic drinking cup that would stick to a tractor. At one point, the magnet company, ForceField, posted a nice little summary of the project.

If you think it's a little off-beat for a bunch of hardcore compact tractor owners, you ain't seen nothin' yet. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

What about the T-n-T stuff ? Again, a little pricey, but who has it that would trade for a tractor without it? (Without modifying the new one!)

After having and using T-N-T, I would not get another tractor without it. It is really handy and useful.

With the wheels straight ahead, where on the wheel does the suicide knob get mounted for a right handed person?

I don't have one, but if I did, it would be at 9 o'clock, so I'd use it with my left hand while operating loader controls, TNT controls, etc. with my right hand.

I'd mount mine at 9-11 o'clock depending on the wheel position, seat position, etc. That would leave your right arm free for the loader and 3PH controls. You could also mount it at 6-9 o'clock... it depends on your preference. If you usually grip the wheel towards the bottom rather than the top, you might have it lower. They're clamp-on usually, so you can see what works best for you.

Keep in mind, too, that on most newer pieces of equipment, it doesn't matter where you put it, because the steering is hydraulic, and the steering wheel is not in a fixed position relative to the front wheels. This was true of my L4310HST and is true of all the EarthForce machines, as well.

Personally, I've found the 7 o'clock position the best for me. But it really comes down to each their own.

Yes, this is true. I was just about to answer Mike by saying "Put it where ever you want", (well, I guess I have said it now), because if your tractor is like mine, it will be at 9:00 one minute and 3:00 the next. The wheel is slowly turning even though it is not that noticeable when cutting grass.

Just drive your tractor down the road in high gear and it will become apparent -- as well as a constant battle -- to keep it in your lane (Well it is for my M8950 anyway)
