tc 30 with broken clutch housing and block

just wanted to update this thread. as you all know the block recracked and i was miffed. so i figured i had nothing to loose at this point and droped the oil pan and took my wirefeed welder to it. 16 tractor hours later and its still running. seeps a small amount of oil but i can live with that. i have to keep the rpms at 1000 to keep the oil light off but its working fine. would still be interested in seeing some pictures of a subframe on a tc30 so that when i do replace the block i might be able to up grade. in the mean time im working on the letter idea and have backed off any negitave comments for the time being. mike

I've got a 2003 TC30 and using my fel today, I think I popped my clutch housing and block just like yours. I haven't looked closely after looking at your pictures, but I did see the crack in the engine block in the exact same place as yours. So, I'm expecting to see the clutch housing damage you've got. My tractor's only got 347 hours on it and it's never had a backhoe on it. I've got a 7308 fel, and a 5' brushhog mower on the back (not a NH, but was sold to me with the tractor by the dealer). Just wondering if you have done anything more trying to get anything out of NH. I'm going to talk to my dealer tomorrow, but I had a heck of time getting them to replace a faulty lift cylinder a month out of warranty, so I'm not expecting to much. I'm definitely thinking about going up the chain. If you'd like to chat in private, let me know.

mighty sorry about the cracked housig and block. My old Case VAC block is all cast iron and sometime previous to my ownership. The motor must have thrown a rod or crankshaft real hard. The hole is about an inch and half in diameter. Impossible to weld. The previous owner patched the hole with sheet metal and placed small studs about 1" apart to secure the sheet metal to the block and sealed with silicon. Works great. No leaks for many years.

Sorry to hear of everyones problems. I would be interested in buying a broken unit as I have a burnt tractor I am rebuilding.

Also, I saw a 3rd tractor the McGwen (sp?) in PA was selling with crasked housing.

The thing that worries me is , you have no guarantee it will not happen again .

ok guys time to pony up whos got the tc 30 block. I had orginally thought of suing nh but the leagle eagle i got ahold of said that i might win if i could afford to.....but yea some more yard art is allways welcome and this way i can sit here and belly ache and tell anyone who will listen that if your looking at nh you might be looking the wrong direction. of course now that fiat owns them its not home grown anyway, who cares..by the way when was the last time you saw an ad for fiat anyway...heck they dont even send me the nh magizine anymore....even the dealership that i bought it from went belly up.
i wouldnt mind owning a diffrent tractor, one that works and does the job.
can actually take abuse and doesent cost me money everytime i turn around.
