Gotcha, I was only semi-conscious when I read the thread this morning. Originally, I thought it was similar to the "T" series, but now I see it's not even close.

The "T" has a universal at both ends of the shaft. The forward is covered with a boot which holds a greasable, and thick, tube over the driveshaft to minimize veggie windup.

Here's a pic I took before I woke from my cranial slumber. Glad I'm not the only one battling with ground born woodsy stuff. My recent filter housing experience was expensive!

We had success today dropping the shaft. You can tell from the picture how the old sleeve etched the shaft in two areas. Fortunately the shaft was not bent or,at least,was not visably distorted. After shopping at autoparts store and plumbing store without joy for new sleeve,we found the perfect diameter and thickness at our local muffler shop,cost $5. Happy ending.

Good to hear. A bit of battle scar on the drive shaft, that's all. I was going to suggest electrical conduit (Rigid) if you had issue finding proper size sleeve.
