Andy:

It's really not on the thread, but my wife and I are dog lovers. We have a chocolate lab (cookie), a golden lab (pearl), a rat terrier ('bebe) and a black lab (TeeGee) and a rot (Ebeneezer). They all live in the house with us. Thank goodness we have a large farmhouse. They are all castoffs, dropped off by uncaring owners near our farm. Thats what happens when you live between Detroit and Toledo.

I got the weights on the front of my TC24D over the weekend, I cannot begin to tell you how much better it handles. My 60" Befco finish mower is heavy enough to cause the tractor to pop wheelies on any uphill slopes (even very mild slopes) when running with the deck in the air. I added 3" steel disks (2 disks x 1.25" @ 25# each) 9.5" in diameter inside each of the front wheels. I did not use cast iron dumb bells because the 25# weights would not fit inside the front wheels without hitting the valve stem.

I can now lift the deck, run at full speed UPHILL and keep the front end on the ground (as long as I don't hit a bump). On steep parts the front end is still pretty light, but at least the front end is almost always on the ground!!!

Bear in mind, the kids use some of our slopes as tobaggon runs in the winter and some of the older relatives can't get up the hills if they walk down them, but the point is your tractor appears to be set up pretty much like mine and you may find too much front end lift with that big deck of yours in the air if you accelerate too fast.
