TC24 Seat Mount

Last one. The opposite side of pic #3. This shows the other vertical support.

As I said, this was all under warranty and was left up to the dealer by NH as to how to fix it. This made a great improvement in the strength of the seat and not take away too much from a factory look.

I can't belive NH has not come up with a FACTORY solution to this potential SAFETY issue. Could you imagine a 200lb.+ man wearing the seat belt rolling over with the original flimsy mount? Seat, person and all would fall off the tractor and possibly get rolled onto!

Don't get me wrong....I am otherwise happy with the tractor and FEL/BH, but NH should have put out a recall of something other than letting the dealer fabricate and design for them. As I mentioned earlier the dealer had to take pics of the repair and send in to NH.

Hope this helps,

Joe

Jim,

Did these pictures help out?

For some reason I cannot see "MY Home" to check PM's. When I log in, it prompts me to keep logging back in.

Yes it did, thank you. I printed them out for future reference. Sorry I didn't post that, but I've been pretty busy trying to get ready to pour the floor for my garage. Again, thank you - and congrats on the network. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

There are a couple posts in the Case IH forum regarding same problem (one is mine). Any more info on this? I just repaired my seat mounts (out of warranty) yesterday with bolts and large washers outboard of the originals after the sheetmetal broke right off and I went backwards.

Uh oh, you caught me.

I have to confess, I got busy with the floor pour in the garage and didn't end up calling the dealer. I'm at a little over 600 hours now and it doesn't seem like it has gotten any worse and I haven't done anything about it. I really need to though before something happens. I'll check out the Case forum.....

Well, after an issue a couple of weeks ago I e-mail New Holland about the seat mount and the parking brake. New Holland then contacted the dealer and then New Holland e-mailed me back. New Holland has agreed to cover the cost of any repairs needed even though I'm out of warranty. The dealer picked the tractor up on Wednesday. Not sure what they'll do to fix it though. The only thing I'll be out of is a $75 pick-up/delivery fee. I'll keep you posted.

My seats (TC24DA w/220 hours) broke in the same two places as Mega's pictures. My dealer after talking with New Holland agreed to fix under warranty. The bill was over $600 to NH. They basically welded a L shape piece of metal where the bolts attached to the sheetmetal. They did a nice job of painting it blue and it looks like factory. With everything attached I can't get a view to actually take a picture. It seemed a little stiff since it was fixed and in reviewing the pictures I see where they left off the springs in back of seat and will take it back to see why.

Dealer advised originally that no service notices had been posted by NH on seat issue and acted like he had to jump thru hoops with NH rep to get this covered.

Saw this thread from the other TC24 seat mount problem and realized I never followed up to this.

Dealer came picked the tractor up. Had it 3 or 4 days. He did a fix very similar to what was done to JSUnlimited's tractor. Without looking very close under the seat, you can't tell anything was done. I've still got the tractor and approaching 1500 hours and so far no more problems with the seat mount. Seat itself is start to split in a couple of places, but that is another issue to resolve - at some point. Right now it doesn't bother me as I usually wear jeans, but the wife complains because she is usually wearing shorts while on the tractor.:D Just another reason for her to stay off.:p

As far as the parking brake, dealer said it was functioning as designed, just make sure to go past the first notch when latching. I do that, and if left idling, it will still disengage sometimes. Just try not leave it on a hill running w/o an implement engaged to the ground or something.

Jim that pretty little lady doesn't deserve getting her legs all scratched up trying to help you out. Buy her a new seat. :D
