TC24D E-mail

JimD,

Since it seems that the new TC24D is shipping and showing up at dealers (haven't been to mine yet, will on Friday) I thought I would email New Holland on specs and other info.

Below is the email I sent with their response. Not as helpful as yours was.

To New Holland Customer Service:

Recently New Holland announced they were introducing the new TC24D which will be replacing the outgoing TC25D. While this is unfortunate as it will leave the TC29D as the entry level Mid Size Framed Compact Tractor you offer.

My question is when will the New Holland website be updated to refference the TC24D. I understand the product has been shipped to dealers (seen it posted on www.tractorbynet.com ) as being available. However my local dealer has neither information nor knowlege of it (yet).

Is there any pricing available, implement information available
and will the TC29D pricing be adjusted to be more between the old TC25D and the current TC29D?

Thank you for your pending information.

Here is what I got back:

Dear Mr. MDNY

Thank you for your interest in our new TC24D. This compact tractor was put on the production line in the Spring of 2002. Detailed information for the TC24D, such as prices and ordering options will be made available to the public towards the end of this year. If you would like a product brochure, please let us know and we will forward one to you.

Any increase or decrease in the manufacturer's suggested retail price of our Boomer Series tractors will be determined in the upcoming year.

Thank you again for considering New Holland North America for your equipment needs. We look forward to servicing you as a Satisfied

Customer.

It seems odd to me that (1) they put it into production in the spring 2002, and it is showing up at dealers and (2) that tech specs and pricing won't be on their website until the end of the year. I mean how can they expect people to know it exists unless they read about it.

Friday when I goto the dealer (getting the truck serviced near them) and I will see if they have anything further. Just seems like a lack of info and real customer service.

As I posted before the local dealer has had 2 of them for 3 weeks or so. I have not seen the FEL though, he said one has been on order but has not arrived. The one thing I can tell you about the tractor is the new seat has limited the entry and exit room as compared to the TC18 and TC21D. The seat is mounted higher which limits the room between the seat and steering wheel. The seat is more comfortable once your on but a real pain to get back off, and thats in the summer with good footing and light clothes. /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif

Does the new TC24D have tilt and telescoping steering like the D models on the Class II Boomers?

Last Friday I took my freind to my favorite New Holland dealer. He got a quote for a new TC24D, hydro, with the new style loader 60" HD bucket and loaded R4's for $14,900. That also included 78 mile delivery, and free 50 hour service with pickup and delivery. The real pain in the wallet was the New Holland 716B, 48" front mounted snowblower that he wanted. It was an additional $5,000.

No, the tractor does not have it. Kodiak I notice that you use a flail mower, is it a good replacement for a rotary? How has your experience been?

Fly Rodr,

Thanks for the updated info. I guess what I was commenting on was that NH has a new machine out and being sold to consumers. BUT you cannot get any info off of their website, some dealers have no clue (will cofirm on Friday). Most of all the email back indicated that pricing and info isn't coming until year end. I mean if an auotmaker decided to start selling a car in May and actually delivering said product, but told you they won't tell you about it until the end of the year, you would find it a bit odd?

I stopped at the local NH dealer today and they had (2) TC24D on the lot. No TC29D, but a few TC30 and TC33D. I looked at it and it is a looker, but I may end up with the TC29D. I like the bigger frame and more power (grunt grunt, Tim Allen here). But I guess it will play in the numbers. Figure on a TC24D (29D) with FEL and rear blade for snow removal. I would really like a rear snow blower, but that may have to wait until next winter.

Spencer200,

Can you put the list price info for Comparisoin of the TC24D vs TC29D with their respective FEL? Thanks again.

Hey MDNY,

I just went through the same buying process that your looking at. I finally ordered a TC33D. The dealer had 2 TC24Ds, a TC29D and a TC33D, the TC33D had the supersteer and I could not afford the extra money so I had to order one. From the posts I read here and I confirmed with my dealer you will only pay 400 to 500 more for the 33 over the 29, pretty cheap HP for the compact tractors.
