Construction sites are a funny thing. Nobody wants to clean up their stuff and they really don't want to clean up anyone else's.

Every trade leaves a huge pile of trash in their wake and it's almost like they take pride in who's junk disturbs the other trades the most. I'm honing my skills as a trashman.

That brickwork sure looks sharp though. Easily worth a wkend's cleanup! Nobody uses brick here. Might be a seismic thing. We like to toss in a good shaker when the wind dies down. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Legion, the 4wd lever is on the right. It is the inboard control and if you push it forward you will lock into 4wd, pulled back is 2wd. The metal pedal under your left heel is the differential lock, and yea, it makes it mighty tough to turn the tractor but it has yanked my little 24 out of places that I wouldn't even dream of driving another tractor into! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Thanks Bob. I took a much better look at that last night and noticed that I've had it in 4wd all along ...but some of the spots I've been taking it require the use of the dif lock, as it 'you won't get out w/out it'. That's a handy little lever.

There's a dif lock switch on the dash of my Toyota p/u too that also makes a huge difference. I could get used to these things. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

3) Re-read the manuel

Safer to know what's what w/ the controls.. at a critical
moment.. the wrong lever, pedal, or button pushed.. could
cause serious injury to yourself or damage to equipment. Knowing your equipment is the first step to safely operating it. Bring your operating manuel out w/ you to the tractor and
review the controls and what they do.. while sitting on the tractor. It's a learning experience.. I grew up on tractors.. and I'm still learning... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I grew up around fairly large tractors too, but not any with FELs. They add a whole new dimension to safety.

I have to admit, as hard as it was to walk away from the tractor on delivery day, I took all the manuals in and read them. All except the TRACTOR manual, they couldn't find it. I found it stuffed up inside the hood /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
