Traci is right: the PTO brake will not allow you to turn the PTO by hand (or screwdriver) on the TC40D. You have to move the mower end of things. I bought an overriding clutch for my chipper and leave it on all the time now. It sure makes hooking up easier even though it overrides the safety aspect of the PTO brake. Overriding clutch is roughly $50 at Tractor Supply.
