Traci is right: the PTO brake will not allow you to turn the PTO by hand (or screwdriver) on the TC40D. You have to move the mower end of things. I bought an overriding clutch for my chipper and leave it on all the time now. It sure makes hooking up easier even though it overrides the safety aspect of the PTO brake. Overriding clutch is roughly $50 at Tractor Supply.

Guess I don't have one of them /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

You may want to check your manual, mine say's that rear R4 tires can only be dished out. Most of my 3pt equipment seem to place the arms really close to the tires, if the tires were dished in, I'm sure they might rub on the 3pt attachment.

VaTractorGirl, I must admit that turning the hitch pins to the center was not my idea. I learned that trick right here on TBN from someone else /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. As far as stability, I have not had any problems. Sorry to say, the hooking up part stays the same /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif.

You're lucky you don't. I guess the PTO brake is for safety, but it sure makes it a pain to hook up to the PTO unless you can move the implement or it happens to line up perfectly.
