TC29D doesn\'t want to stop
Folks,
Good morning.
My tractor has ~ 75 hours on it and, when new it would stop moving right after removing my foot from the hydro pedal, whether fwd or rev.
Of course, if there was a heavy load in the FEL, the momentum may propel it somewhat forward, but with no load, it was responsive to releasing the hydro pedal. It still stops quickly in reverse, but when in fwd, the unit will continue to move forward for another 1-2 seconds. If I "tap" the hydro pedal toward reverse when the unit is still rolling forward (when it should have already stopped), it will stop as soon as the pedal is tapped in reverse.
I've recently had my 50-hour service completed on my TC29D. A couple of "no big deal" warranty issues and the one that was a "must fix", is what I've described above. Unfortunately, this "must"fix" has turned into a disagrement with the dealer and myself. In my mind, this is a real safety issue.
The dealership found nothing abnormal during the 50-hour service and has since visited again and found nothing wrong. The technician was going to review NH's database of service issues and get back with me, but has not.
Does anyone with a TC29D (or 25D/33D) have this type of problem? A friend at work says that his 29D stops almost immediately after removing his foot from the pedal. Again, I'm not talking about a heavy load on the FEL. I was mowing the grass last weekend and it continued to creep along w/o the FEL connected and only pulling a finish mower behind.
I'd appreciate your comments on this. I'd like to continue with this dealer and don't want to involve NH directly, but the local dealer is unresponsive to my complaint. Perhaps some input from the other owners on this board may make him realize that this is indeed a problem with my tractor that needs to be fixed.
Thanks for your time,
Rob
