TC33D Broke In Half

   / TC33D Broke In Half #11
Sorry guys... I started typing my post prior to the explanation of what happened was made available. After I clicked on the "submit" button, I saw the accident report. That's why I went back and edited it to say that the info didn't apply to this particular issue.

Still, IF my friend's story is true, it might be something to keep an eye on if you do a lot of heavy loader work.

The dealer is Tulsa New Holland. I'm sure Randy is familiar with them.

My friend is the kind of customer they actually try to please. He has purchased at least 3 tractors and a baler from them in the past 3 years. He also buys all his parts there. They know he puts up thousands of bales per year. Maybe only that kind of work is what causes the problem (if it exists) so that could be why they told him not to use the "little" tractor.

I probably shouldn't have posted anything about this. :(

With all the TBN members that we have here it's awful fishy that we hear a story like this secondhand. I would think if there was that much of a problem with a Class III machine that we would have heard it first hand here.

Gee Mike, you mean I have to agree with you??? If one dealer had six, then other dealers would have had many and many would translate to many here also and we would have heard of many complaints. I guess I would be takin that with a grain of salt.

I for one plan on asking my dealer about the validity on this.

I have no reason to doubt my friend. But I do have reason to doubt the dealer. Please do post back about what you guys find.

An 18 wheeler rolled over and dumped its load on me and the tractor while mowing by the road. You can’t see it but the back three point hookup is destroyed along with both fenders and multiple hydraulic hoses and electrical wires ripped apart. The left rear wheel is gone and passably the wheel housing. 400 hours. Can’t discuss accident at this time but will get back with more photos and details later.

Wow! I'm so glad you are still with us.:) There are at least two logs that look like they came very close to coming into the tractor's seat with you. I'm surprised you didn't roll. Whew! you really dodged a bullet.

The insurance company will probably put your tractor on an auction. If you can convince them to sell it to you instead, you may have lots of spare parts. I'm just not sure you would need/want many of them. It's up to you, but I'd think your tractor would be worth more to completely rebuild and sell than just to let sit rusting as a parts bin. ...just my opinion. I'd talk to your local dealer about salvage prices and then use that info to approach the insurance company. If the dealer thinks he will get your rebuild job, he may not bid against you.

Again...you are lucky to be here. I'm glad you are posting and will let us know the details at some point.

Boy's oh boy's was someone looking after you!:D

400 hours is a brand new tractor. Think I'd let the insurance company buy a new tractor and also pay for lost income.

We had one that looked like this about three months ago, a tree fell on it. The insurance company totaled it and we had a customer buy it from them for $1500.

When i was looking for my TC33 i was talking about backhoes for them.

had a dealer tell me that he would never put a backhoe on a 3 point with out a subframe because they "i've seen them snap a tractor in 2" i said ... OH...ok...

but ya sounds like you got lucky and should be getting a new tractor out of the deal.

That sure surprises me, Neil. You'd think you could part it out on ebay and get that much for just the engine. I don't know, really, since I've never done that. It just seems like a possibility.
