The dealer recommended that because he didn't know about the real fix. Install the real fix and forget about the loops. As AlanB said, there's not really enough room to replace both elbows with loops and it looks like exactly what it is....jerry rigged.

Hi Alan, how big a mess is created when you pull the original hard lines off? I've replaced the elbows before and that's not too bad.

Good question regarding the mess. Are there any tricks to the installation, or is it pretty straight forward? Some people said they replaced the cooler. Do I need to do that too?

I ordered my parts just a few days ago from Messicks. All the parts arrived already even though their website said some parts were out of stock for 5-7 days.
