( My panel seems to fog whenever I wash the tractor off. The first time, the flasher indicators came on and flashed even though the switch was in the off position. I haven't put a whole lot of water on the dash since. )

Rich, the flashing lights are the dashboard humidity sensor that just comes on the Dee-lux model tractor.

Jim I like that /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Rich the problem comes from dousing the relays with water. They are located beneath the instrument cluster and behind the two panels that you bang your knees on.

Once I found out myself what was causing the flashers to come on after a wash job I also found out that compressed air in the direction of the relays was the fix.

I spoke to soon, the last few days my temperature guage began acting up again and this afternoon it would only go to the first mark. In addition I have had the lights flash after washing the tractor. I like to keep the thing clean so I wash it and wax it as well. Hope that the UV doesn't get to the thing and so I clean and change things as the manual states but have had problems with the temp guage several times. Has anyone seen a recall on this problem?

Flashing lights is a common problem after washing a NH, don't ask me how I know that. I usually use compressed air to get the water out of the electrical after a wash job.

Your temperature gauge problem I believe was discussed in some detail some time ago. Do a search for temperature under the NH forum and you should find it. The fact that it is low indicates a problem in the cooling system to me. Bypass or thermostat related.

I received a reply from one of the members here and their suggestion was that moisture from condensation might be the cause of temp guage failure. I agree, on both instrument clusters I have had, there has been moisture under certain conditions. As to the flashing lights, I had to tighten the throttle cable nut on my TC33D, and the relays are right under the throttle, which means there is an open hole where water can go right down on top of the relays. Bottom line, maybe put a piece of electrical tape over the hole when washing the tractor. In addition I am going to take the panels off and blow the dust off that gets in there periodically.
