I have a 2003 TC33D and the temp gauge just stopped working. it doesnt move at all just stays way down low. Any ideas what it may be or has anyone had similar problem?

Roto, find the temp sending unit on motor, pull wire off and gnd it to block well with jumper.
Turn ignition key on and see if gauge starts to go up, CAUTION, don't let needle go up past half way.
If needle does climb up then most likely sending unit is at fault.
Note, leaving key on too long will cause needle to climb into the heavens and you may not see it again.
This test will work for all bi-metallic gauges (temp, oil, fuel) however, on balancing coil gauges (rare) needle may go down instead of up on gnd test.

cheers,

Don't know if your instrument panel is built the same as my Class III machine but about 6 months ago mine quit also. Everything else checked out so it boiled down to replacing the instrument panel which wasn't cheap. Since it was bad anyway I figured what the heck, I took the screws out of the back of the gauge set and pulled off the clear front lens. The temperature gauge and the fuel gauge on my rig actually plug into the circuit board via some cheap spring clamp connections. I carefully finagled the temperature gauge away from the PC board then cleaned both electrical connections. Reinstalled the temp gauge and reassembled the panel. Crossed my fingers, turned the key, and yes it's been working ever since.

My TC29D temp gauge quit in about the first three months. Now two years later when I turn the key on it goes up to hot. Then as teh tractor starts to warm up it will go down to the actual temperature. It seems to work once my tractor has been running for 5 minutes. Talked to the dealer, they think there is a short. I can't find one.

i didnt look long but there is a wire going to top of manifold near or where the thermostat might be and it has screw holding it not a push on clip would that be the sending unit? Or a sensor of somekind? and i guess it wouldnt hurt to just get small jumper wire and short it out with key on and someone watching it should go up huh?
