Re: TC33D won\'t start

Spencer........One last question...........My ignition switch sometimes hits a dead spot when in the on position..........you crank the starter, the engine starts, then shuts off........when this happens the dash lights go off as if the switch is off but it's in the run position.........I told the dealers service mgr about this but nothing was replaced as far as the ignition switch...................possibly a bad contact in my switch is arcing causing the fuse problem ???????????..........TOM

Re: TC33D won\'t start

I would get the switch replaced!

here is the info on the fuse.

In instances where the use of a 10 amp fuse fails to resolve the concern, install an 8 or 10 amp circuit breaker. A circuit breaker typically takes longer to trip than a fuse of the same rating but will still offer protection for the circuit. 8 and 10 amp circuit breakers are offered by Buss Fusses and will fit into the number 5 position on the fuse panel of a Class 2 Compact tractor. The circuit breakers are commonly available at local auto parts suppliers such as Advanced Auto, Auto Zone and NAPA. The Buss part number for the 8 amp circuit breaker is BP/UCB-8 and the Buss part number for the 10 amp circuit breaker is BP/UCB-10.

Re: TC33D won\'t start

Very nice! It always feels good to find out it was something simple, but you can't help but wonder why it wasn't found sooner. ...and on another positive note, Spencer200's info about the 8 amp and 10 amp circuit breakers is a great bit of info that many folks can use. I wrote those part numbers down for future reference. I'm hoping they work on my tractor too.

Re: TC33D won\'t start

Tom,
Oddly enough I think I have the same problem. I have a thread going in this section about a DX33 with power and speed problems but today blew 3 fuses and I am sure the light or any other switch was not turned on. The ignition switch has always been a little hard to turn and doesn't want to snap back to the run position after releasing from the cranking position. Now it is very hard to turn the switch. I think I have a bad switch also.

Spencer200,
Any thoughts why my DX33 has a slow cruising speed of only 11mph and I can't go up my hill in 2nd gear. The tractor just stops and the engine doesn't even bog down. This same hill I could go up with my former Kubota 2710(27hp) with the FEL, Rear blade, midmount mower on and engaged. The weight of the two tractors is about the same because with my DX I do not have a midmount mower on and obviously no PTO engaged. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jerry

Re: TC33D won\'t start

Jerry.........print out this entire thread and take it with you to the dealer................I find that dealer's don't always listen to the customer as much as we would like them to. I work with motorized equipment on a daily basis and could have easily gone further on my TC33............BUT a new tractor shouldn't need to be worked on...........That's why I bought it!!!!.......I have the new machine so my wife can just turn the key for the next 10 years when we need it !!! I have 2 properties to maintain and it takes both of us to do it..........I can find plenty of old tractors to work on if I WANT to..........Good luck................TOM

Re: TC33D won\'t start

Most likely the pressure to the hydro is low and needs to be checked. We have had a few problems with the hydros and had to replace the whole thing under warranty
