I would not accept this tractor PERIOD! Either get a new one from him OR get your money back. As I stated before, who knows what the dealer will try to pull next. G

It is threads like this, that keeps manufactures from participating in on-line forms. Quite frankly, I don't blame them either.

I agree there is some over-reaction going on... But when I bought my last house (brand new) and there were 3 broken bricks on the sidewall and the evestrough looked like someone had been doing pull ups on it.. I complained... When the site manager said "these aren't $300,000 homes you know." I went over his head .. I bought new I expect new...
We are just trying to put financing together on our new tractor and if I buy new I will expect new....chips, scratches, rust and dents are not acceptable... the dealer knows this so should the manufacturers... If they are afraid to join an on-line forum because of this then we have bigger problems in the world....

In the back of your manual is a set up check list that New Holland requires it's dealers to go through with you, the new owner. My dealer went through the whole list one at a time, in fact it was even boring for me. At the end, he told me New Holland requires this to be signed by the new owner. I would call back and say, Hey, who put all the hours on this? and I am not happy about the way it was dropped off. Give me a good reason for why all these hours on are this tractor or come back and get it. Now, I do believe this came up once before about the hours on a newly delivered tractor and if they did run it through a full test and using a dyno it could have ran up to ten or so hours. I would not know how to do the search for the thread but I am sure we had a thread on this before.

The half empty radiator would tick me off, as far as overheating I am not sure I would worry too much about that if they used it for a demostrator just running around the lot, but if they actually did put it on the dyno where they run it hard for a while then I would be. All in all if it was me I would be disapointed and I would let the dealer know in writing along with a phone call and a registered letter to New Holland.

Thanks everyone for all the input -- it was really helpful to me to have this forum to get some feedback on this.

The dealer was very reasonable, and said fine, we can pick it up, or order you a new one (2 weeks none in stock) or whatever you want. So they are picking it up tomorrow and then I can either order a new one or go somewhere else.

By the way, the dealer said the 11 hours were all put on when the tractor was taken to a local agricultural fair. Whatever.

Great news /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif!! Did he say that your CHECK will be returned at the same time they pick up the tractor?? Keep us posted. G

This information by itself would cause me to order a new one. When combined with the half empty radiator (visions of people riding the tractor around the fair grounds), I'd ask for my check back and then find another dealer.

Sounds very reasonable to me. I'd just keep the tractor. 11 hours is nothing. I assume you'll get the right size tiller. How do you know the radiator was down half and just not a little ways? I can't see into mine very far. Did it take a lot of fluid to refill. Just my thoughts.

I am with Andy. Keep the tractor and work with the dealer. Maybe get the supplies for your 50 hour service?

AndyMA and JerryG:

Think about what your saying and agreeing with!

As I stated before, what will this dealer try and pull next. If he is supposed to be delivering a BRAND NEW machine (NOT A DEMO), as this one was supposed to be NEW and wasn't, do you really think he is going to be HONEST when it goes in for a service or anything else for that matter??

Next time you guys here of a Fair, let the dealer use YOUR tractor for his DEMO machine. After all, it's ONLY 11 hours!!!! PLEASE. G
