TC33DA hydraulic leak - how expensive will this be?

You might look up higher on your tractor and see if the oil is running down there. Under the seat there are some fittings that can leak and make it look like it is from down lower. It’s much easier and less dollars to fix.

I remember seeing a thread about it here.

I also have a leak(significant), The problem is isolating it. I used the black light method, but when I viewed it, the leaked material was everywhere, more toward the Right side(yes, I did clean with solvent first). I cannot reach the fittings under the tractor(the area located below the seat "area") without removing the rear tire. Also, even with flashlight, my poor eyes cannot detail that distance. However, I will add my focus to the area of the bolt (just in case). Fixing is one matter (fix yourself or hire it done), diagnosing is more critical, but it all can umbrella under the same frustration. A learning experience. new holland,2005,tc45DA

I've never see it actively "drip" and the hydraulic fluid reservoir dipstick shows full. It's more of a seepage.

I suspect that it might only be seeping during operation, and that it doesn't actively seep when the tractor is off/parked.
In that case I'd just monitor it and park it so drips don't cause a problem.

Yes, I would like to check higher up. It's difficult to access that area however. Looks like the easiest way might be to remove one of the rear tires and reach in from the side?

Besides any fittings or other "fluid holding" items, are there housing bolts on the top side, similar to the ones I can see and get to on the bottom side? If so, I'd like to check the tightness of those.

I can (barely) get to bolts about half way up, inserted from the opposite direction, and those seem tight.

Mine is also 20 years old although not a NH, like yours it had been seeping hydraulic fluid for a while. Turns out it was a slightly cracked hose for the power steering. The mechanic who serviced it told me it took longer cleaning up the machine to locate the leak than to actually fix it.
