TC35 shuttle shift won't move when in gear.

Hi i'm sure this has been brought up before but i've not been able to find it. Our tractor has been sitting for the winter into summor and just now been able to get it running. But when I shifted into gear and let the clutch out. Nothing happens. Although if I push forward on the gear selector or backwards, it will move. Slightly in low range.Any suggestions ? Also,if I get it going in this manner, pushing in the clutch will not stop it. Just about ran over some stuff... lol. New to the forum, thanks .

Hi and welcome to the forum.

From your description, sounds like the clutch disc is stuck to the flywheel. Happens a lot in humid environments. It's recommend to keep the clutch disengaged when storing for long periods of time. Some tractors have a hook that will hold the clutch pedal down, others don't, so people usually jam a piece of wood between the pedal and the footrest.

Anyway, back to your issue, do you have an free space to either go backward or forward? The idea is that you have some free space so you can start it in gear, then press the clutch and also the brake pedals hard, hopefully it will release the clutch disc. Some are really stubborn, hopefully this is not the case.

Yup sounds like the clutch is stuck. I had mine do this after only sitting for a month once. I was able to free it up by driving around while pushing the clutch in and pushing the brakes. Took a few tries. Once it freed up I made sure to slip the clutch alot to wear some rust off.

Next time block the clutch lever down.
