NH TC35DA
Greetings,
After starting our approx. 10 year old NH TC35DA this morning I noticed a smell like an electrical short. After shutting down the engine, upon close inspection, I notice a wisp of smoke from behind the seat area. Just to the right of the rear of the seat (sitting in it) there is a round black button shaped insert that was where the smoke was coming from. It was quite hot and upon removal it was charred with no wire connections. Is this a fuse block or sensor of some kind? In all these years I never even noticed it and I can't find my owner's manual. Any help would be appreciated, including what it goes to as it didn't seem to be affecting anything but obviosly it has a purpose.

Thanks for any help.

Quite possibly it was the connector for a seat safety switch or even the switch itself.
Great location for water and grime to corrode things.
Since you say no wire connections I'll bet the wires melted off and are hanging loose down there somewhere.
If my guess is correct, cut skin and twist the ends together and cap them so that they don't short to ground.
