TC40D delivered yesterday

The wait is over. The new TC40D was delivered about 6:00 p.m. yesterday. I Used it for about an hour. The safety switch in the seat is a bit annoying as you have to have the range selector in neutral and the parking brake set to avoid killing the engine. That will take a bit of getting used to. My first impression though is I am going to like it. I didn't order any rear work lights with the tractor so this weekend I will need to get that taken care of. On my 4400 JD I had two lights to the back and two to the front. I had the optional 55 amp alternator. I heard that NewHolland just offered a rebate on the TC tractors. Does anyone know the effective date of the rebate and the amount? My dealer didn't mention it and I would like the information when I quiz him about it. We had the price agreed upon two weeks ago and if a rebate was announced since that date I might want to suggest I get it.

The enhanced incentives kicked in around April 4, 2002...maybe Spencer200 can verify for you. I got another $ 500 on my TC35D and a lower finance rate.

Get used to that switch. You really don't want to get off the tractor with it in "gear". The hydros can creep or roll...they're a different animal that a clutched gear machine. Get familiar with the parking brake also. It'll save your machine from rolling down a hill or over something / someone.

FYI the NH has a 40 watt alternator as standard. You may want to use a relay to isolate the aux. lights from the standard ( 4 ) headlights.

Watch that temp. gauge....you may have a cold running engine to correct !! 15 minutes of your time and about $10 of parts.

its not actually a rebate to the customer it is a settlement allowance to the dealer that most dealers pass on to the customer. The new allowances went into effect april 6th. they went from 500.00 to 1050.00 on class 3 boomers
