I'm guessing the salesperson thought they could pull the second remote off another tractor with two remotes and put it on your tractor as the first remote; or they had a 2nd or 3rd remote available in stock, but not a 1st remote. The salesman tries to get the service guy to do this and he says "No go Joe". The first remote lists for $253, while the 2nd and 3rd remotes list for $213 (at least on the June 2002 price list). I'd also bet the salesman comes back and says that the "special order TC35D part" will be a little more than expected /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif, probably about $253 total! The Remote Kit #1 for all Class III Boomers is for the first single spool valve and includes the Rear Remote Control Valve (part #86554978) that is needed to mount the valve onto the hydraulic port from the pump. Subsequent Remote kits (#2 and #3) don't require another Rear Remote Control Valve, so these cost $40 less.
Edit later:
I think I sounded too cynical above. I just hope your relationship with your dealer is based on honesty - it really makes for a better long-term relationship.
