Not a serious issue, but I do like having the armrest and I've managed to break the right side. A complete kit is available for $166 (Messicks Part Search ) but I'm hoping I can make the repair.
What is not shown in the picture of the seat is a pin on the back side of the arm shaft, which allows the arm to swing up. The short pin is opposite the hole visible in the shaft. In the second picture you can see that part of the plastic liner, where the pin rides is broken. There is a cover that is screwed into the end of the arm. I can get the broken part to fit neatly in place and with some epoxy, I believe it will hold (or at least I want to give it a try).
What I'm not sure of is how to reassemble the arm. From the picture on the Messicks' site, it appears the arms need to be attached by the dealer/owner. Before I break something else, has anyone purchased one of these kits? If so, can you tell me how to assemble the arm to the shaft on the frame? I'm thinking the pin might be removed from the arm shaft, but I can't tell if it is pressed or screwed in.
Any advice/guidance appreciated.
