I had a chance to use a TC40DA SS (Thanks Mike!) and it is/was awesome. Can turn on a dime. And the auto 4WD is very sweet.

Thanks for the tips. I'll have to spend the afternoon test driving, now! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I remember reading here about some issues with the Super Steer. If I recall right, the wheels turned so far that the tires rubbed the FEL. Maybe that was an early problem and the 17 LA fixed that. Not sure. Are they any operational/reliability issues with it now?

Thanks.

You can ask pineridge. I know that when I drove it no problems at all and smooth as butter. The turning radius has to be seen to be appreciated. You will love it.

No rubbing on my 2002 TC40D/17LA. The SuperSteer Option does require a few extra inches in FEL arm length to get away from the tires, however. I suppose if somebody had installed a 16LA loader on a SS tractor there would be some clearance issues.

I do like the AutoSense 4WD feature that comes with SuperSteer tractors.

chrisswell, I grew up there in wpa in beaver county. I still go back quite often in the summer and fish the neshannock. quite enjoyable.

I have a 40a and have never regreted not getting a hydro, although I could see hydro being useful on hills. The ss works just fine for me and I paid less that 19k for mine this year with fel and adjust links, r4's, delivered50mi to my place. To me, setting a gs tractor in a gear is like cruise control. It goes the spead I want it to until I tell it not to. I

I'm not saying don't get hydro, but I like my ss just fine. Of course, standard in a trruck is just fine with me too. It has to be what you like.
