Tractor
John Deere 4720 (2007)
To all the class three, but especially the TC45D, Boomer owners out there...

Are there any specific issues I need to be aware of when purchasing a used TC45D?

The specific tractor I'm looking at is a 2003 model with about 1050 hours on it. It has the 16LA FEL with the skid steer style QA and a heavy duty bucket. It has R4 tires and the rears have been loaded.

Just make sure the tractor has been well maintained!
Check the service records. have a good mechanic look it over.

Check the area in, around, and under the battery to see if there was acid damage due to an issue with the battery.

Check underneath the tractor for any hydraulic leaks. If it's parked on concrete scan the concrete for wet spots.

Make sure all the controls work effortlessly.

If a loader is included check to be sure all the pins are tight fitting (no slop).

Take it for a test and check over the HST or gear transmission to be sure it moves into gear properly.

Check all the fluids to see if it has been maintained.

When checking fluids, examine the color of the fluids. Dark colors indicate they weren't changed or perhaps some other problem. Open the radiator cap and see what color the antifreeze solution is.
