I hope this is the right area. I was making up some new air hoses so I could use my 3/4" ratchet to tighten the nuts on my bushog blades.
How in the heck to you get rid of the static electricity on the tape. It's a real pain to handle when it keeps wanting to pull toward your finger and not around the threads.
Is there some sort of trick, or do I just deal with it?

Everyone has their own trick, mine is to hold the tape spool in my left hand (like a tape dispenser with my ring finger thru the tape spool center) with a bit of tape sticking out, and the threaded fitting, hose, pipe etc in the right hand, then turn the threads clockwise just like you would screw it in, winding a couple of turns of tape onto/into the threads. This allows holding the proper tension and winding on the tape in the proper direction.

I think the right way is what works best for you. Myself I always hold the fitting in my left hand. I then hold the end of the tape with my thumb then I turn about three wraps of tape around the treads as if you were tightening a fitting on them.

The Heavier, Mil Spec., Teflon Tape isn't as susceptible to Static.

I've have it in Yellow for Gas Pipe and Pink for Water and Air...

be careful using teflon tape that you dont over tighten it and split the nut i use pulmbers paste so as to not split the brass its like never sieze but made for water connections wonderful stuff and no hassels with static elictricty
