Murph, if you are talking about the l.e.d. lights then have you tried covering them up with electrical tape?

Spence,

Not only have I taped them up, I have made a sheet metal box around them just leaving the eye open and she still was able to chew on the wire until she pulled it out of the eye. I dropped a piece of conduit down over it and supported it and now she can't get to it. The thing I was saying, she would never chew the orange light only the green one. So I have no green but all kinds of oranges around because you can only get them in a kit.

I bought my JD 5220 used and it did not have the extending links ... When I priced them at the dealer ( I looked at the price list myself) they were over $400.00 each! So I got an I-match ... so far this has worked great ... If I where you I would order the extending links as I think they are all you need and you do need something ... if your back is like mine ... it gets tired of trying to hook some of these very heavy implements that wieght over a 1000 lbs ...

Is there any concern or thoughts about the telescoping links possibly being weaker than the standard links? In either draft or lifting movements - or maybe even worse (?) in compression when using a back blade in reverse?.

The telescoping links on the 5x20 series look a LOT beefier than the available photos of the CUT versions.

Are you referring to telescoping links?

Do they seem prone to problems?

In my opinion.....NO. these telescoping links on my 4710 look to be very durable. They extend out about 5-6 inches. The extended portions appear to be very durable and well made just like the main part of the link. I've not had any problems with the telescoping links and at this point haven't had any concerns about potential failure under heavy loads.
