JB2,
I have the 48" deck on my 749 for the same reasons you stated. The 2305 should cover more ground with the wider deck in your case. While mowing certainly needs to be done I bought the 749 to fill in around the compact tractors for initial landscaping tasks. I found that I needed something small and manueverable to work in the confined locations and under lower trees, my hope here is to reduce the amount of hand labor to a minimum cost.

I will be following your progress this year as I considered the 2305 as well, will be usefull to hear how it works out for you. I choose the 749 for the rear wheel steer and its lower center of gravity. Happy with it so far.:D

Yeah, I really Love my X744 as well and with no ROPS on it, it will be great to mow around trees or large shrubs where the ROPS on the 2305 may get caught and I am sure my customers would not appreciate a branch being broke off there trees. I know with my X744 with AWS and 48" deck, I have eliminated about 90% of the pushmowing on a bigger contract, thanks to the manuverablity of the X744. On this job, the push mowing has gone from 40 minutes to about 10-15 minutes, so I really value having an AWS mower.
I bought my X744 in June this past year with 692 hrs and now have 784hrs on her now, likely the 2305 will take some of the hrs in 2011 but I may rotate which days I run them to even out the hrs and keep them running.

I will likely put the hydrolic dump MCS system on my X744 AWS for leaf pickup this fall. I got to do some configurations to allow this system to work as I have not seen an X700 series with hydrolic Dump MCS from a 455 mounted on it. Should work with modifications.

It will be interesting to compare the two mowers, but theres no doubt the X744 AWS will turn shorter, but the 2305 will cover the wider areas a little bit faster but both have there place in my part time lawn maintence bussiness.

Take Care Jason B
