Tell me how to flatten pasture

I'd use what you have, loader and box blade, to break up the high spots. Don't worry about redistributing and making it all level, just break the high spots loose. Then make a large drag like the one deserteagle71 posted above, and use that to level it all out.

If you have horses or cattle keep them on a smaller area to avoiding damaging good grazing ground. At the end of winter the pasture is pretty rough and hard to walk across. I work ours up with an old deerborn type plow - looks like a small chisel plow but the shanks are spring loaded. Later I go over it with a disc to break it up. Then I finish it with a chain harrow. There's no way around it though and the ground will be something you can walk across and more importantly it will be healthier.

While you are waiting for the mower, it would be a good time to thouroughly walk te area to look for stumps, rocks, wire, etc.

Of all my 3-point attachments, the Box Blade has been the most challenging to master. Small changes in the top link controls large changes in box blade cutting depth and efficiency. Be persistent in using the BB and your skill will increase. Anything over 2 feet above level, recommend either till, or disk or plow to loosen the soil and make everything easier. Many rental companies can provide those attachments for a cost effective week long rental.

Originally, the majority of the highs and lows in my field never exceeded 6 inches, but eventually over time, i got it down to where I can see the highs if they were just 2" above level. Repeated dragging will provide super positive results.
