Temperature Check

Well they got it right, and today was 70 degrees out. I started out in sweat pants and a jacket, but ended up the day in shorts and a t shirt.

You guys out working up North have my admiration. No way would I ever want to find out what it's like to live under those conditions!!!

I worked for a few weeks on a project in Laredo, over 100F every day I was there. I moved slowly from shade to shade. The building we were working in had a temporary AC hooked up to it, brought the inside temperature down to mid 80's, felt kind of brisk after being outside. I can dress for cold but, even on constructions sites there is a 'minimum' dress code:eek:.
Hot and humid is harder on me though, you can be soaked with sweat and it doesn't help because it doesn't evaporate. At least in Laredo it was a dry heat:rolleyes:. Just like here today, it is a dry cold. We say that as a joke because it is still real cold but a low RH does help.

28 degrees and snowing heavy.

3" on the ground with another 3" expected.

Rear blade attached.:D

I love living in New England where there are 4 distinct seasons. This time of year I love a night with a temp of 0 with no wind and a million stars shineing.

Tonight, it's snowing.;

It's -35C here with a wind chill of -47C. That's -31F and a wind chill of -52.6F for the "Fahrenheit challenged"! :D
(And "here" is Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada!)

We've finally caught up now it was the same here this morning....

Funny thing too is the penguin walk, you have it mastered after the first snow fall. So wrapped up and walking like a penguin is the order of the day!!!!!

Here's tonight's weather from Whidbey Island, 3"-5" predicted by tomorrow morning. The good thing is it will be near 50ー by Wednesday.

Eddie, I was 24 years old when I left Texas and there is no way I could move back to 100ー+ summers. There year I joined the Navy it was 45 straight days of 102ー+ days. Sort of like my 3 years in the Sahara Desert.:(

OK, I'm jealous. I'm 30mi south & 10mi east of you and we're getting nothing.

I know that some of you won't believe me, but I'll take August over January all year long!!! Once or twice a year, the heat will get to me, but that's very rare. I've found that the trick to dealing with the heat is to be outdoors in the morning when it's still nice out, and to never go indoors, or cool off. While it's hot, and I sweat constantly, it's not anything that I struggle to deal with. I've been known to drink gallons of water in a day, and enjoy every drop of it.

In winter, I struggle to get going. I'm building a gazebo/wedding pavilion right now, and just standing on the grass around it hurts. I wear wool socks in my boots, but it's not much help while standing still, working a piece of wood. All those clothes bother me, and slow me down. I like shorts and a T-shirt. I can move freely this way.

And wost of all, cold is just painful to me, while heat is comforting.

I'm just glad that there's people out there like some of you guys who like the cold. It sure would be crowded here in Texas if everyone was like me!!! hahaha
