Tempurpedic, NovaFoam Matress Opinions?

We just bought a foam spring combo mattress about 2 months ago. It is made by International Bedding Corp. It have what they call a foam encased spring.

We went shopping with the intent of buying a conventional mattress. After spending over a hour in the store trying out several different types we decided on the IBC.

For us the Tempurpedic was to soft and you felt like laying in a hole. There was a Sealy foam spring combo that was basically the same bed as the IBC but was still a little to soft for us. With the combo mattress we got the contouring feel of the tempurpedic with the firmness and the return to normal shape of a conventional mattress. Another selling point was that the store told us if within 1 month we did not like the mattress we could exchange for credit towards any other mattress in the store. We still have it and sleeping better than ever.

I have tempurpedic pads in a orthopedic chair.I have found if you use it alot, and my wife tells me i do. they will break down and become just like the foam, i replaced. I paid about 300$ to up grade the chair my dad has the same chair with tempurpedic pads and they still have good cushion mine is two years older and gets more use. The next bed will be a Selectcomfort. Good luck

We tried the tempur & select air and finally settled on a Latex by Sealy.

Though I liked the idea of the Tempur, after I settled into it, I tried to roll over (as I do at night) and I just rolled back into the depression.

I DID buy the Tempurpedic pillow for the wife at Christmas time. She didn't like it, so guess who gets to use it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

We've had one of the memory foam beds for about two years now, and I like it so far, but I noticed when we stripped the bed I can see slight impressions where we sleep. That makes me think that it won't hold up over the long haul, I've decided that the next one will be the air bed, Select Comfort, or Sleep Number Bed or whatever, I think they will hold up longer.

My wife and I bought a Tempurpedic about a year ago. I have some low back problems and would wake up with a back ache every day. From day one with the tempurpedic I don’t have the back aches any more. I move in the night much less and don’t notice my wife’s movements. Since I bought mine I a couple of friends have bought the same mattress and have been just as satisfied. I also have a friend who bought a select comfort the same time as I bought mine and he has been very happy with it.

As far as the smell goes, it seemed to me that it lasted about a week. I was never bothered by it of course I am a chicken farmer so I’m used to a little foul odor in my life.
