Around here, you can get a open sided 18x20 carport installed for $1,425. Add a few hundred dollars for a heavier fame and an extra foot of height. I think their service area ends just short of NH.

That is what I am considering. I get the frame and roof for an 18x31 with 9' height for $2500 installed on my pad. Likely pour an 18x6 pad for the attachments and stone for the rest of the pad. Thinking about adding some tarps for temporary sidewalls. I can add wood or steel sides and doors as I get more funds or as needs dictate down the road. It will be perfect for storing attachments and firewood.

The carport looks to be a great idea and will meet your needs perfectly. Make sure to have a roof rake to keep the snow off.
