Im sorry mjncad but I think this is Sams thread, not yours.

I agree with you..Davo.....Tony

Yes, it is Sam's thread; but he is digressing off the technical aspects of his interesting house with this Pole Shift doom and gloom crapola. I just made a suggestion, not a demand.

If Sam wants to preach PS BS and try and convert infidels like me, I think a separate thread would be a good place to discuss it.

My less than humble opinion.

The last time I saw an earth shelter being built was 35 years ago (?). It was cozy, but it had water problems. I su[ppose techology has solved those kind of problems. Good luck with your project.

Thanks kude
Water problems are a big problem. This is why we are still uncovered. We want to be sure we got it right.

Sam,

I remember looking at an earth covered home in the Sallisaw OK area several years ago while I was there shopping for property. It looked more like a military ammo bunker rather than your Tera Dome structure. It had a flat concrete front with a picture window in it and a roof over a front porch. I never went inside because we we didn't call the agent. As I work on a military base, I commented to my wife that it looked like a converted bunker.

We found it by following some very old sale signs at some county road intersections and cannot remember its' exact location only to say North of Sallisaw. I believe while looking on the internet recently that I found it again as a "sold" property. Have you ever seen it?

We will be moving to your area (Short OK) about Oct 1.

I believe this may be the house. It is north of Sallisaw and close to Marble City, may be off mission road. Welcome neighbor

So Sam, maybe you could clarify something for me.

When I first heard of this type of construction, I was under the assumption that they were built in hilly terrain into the side of a hill. But if I understand your pictures correctly, you are building on flat ground and will then cover the house in a giant mound of dirt/earth? Or did I miss something?

You are correct. This is why are home requires so much more dirt to cover it over.

Sam, I enjoy seeing & reading about your progress but observe that for a guy as concerned about such potentially serious issues as Pole Shift & the decline of civilization as you are, you are surprisingly willing to publicize the details of your home construction, location, etc. here on TBN.

Translation: When all h3ll breaks loose, I'm comin' to live with you! ;)

There are many of us who share. I am not too worried it will all come out in the tsunami. We are all where we are supposed to be and I am glad to have tickets to the event. We will all come together or ?

Hi Sam,

Very soon you should start feeling relief from the open roof heat. You are getting really close to covering.

I'm sure this is obvious to you, you are very good at figuring out the details, but I'd hate to not mention it and you have a problem. Even with a light tractor, you don't want to drive it over areas you have put insulation sheets down. You stand a good chance of crushing and breaking your insulation. Work from the far end of the roof from your access and finish each section with fill/insulation/fill as you go.

Someone was worried about putting Sam's machine on the roof--these things are very strong. You can put a large bulldozer on the concrete dome with no problem. I think Terra Dome has pictures. The dome shape, 4" of concrete and rebar makes a machine no problem.

I will dump loads of soil on top of the layers of insulation and only after I have 10 to 12 inches on fill on top will I drive our 4100 lb tractor over. This should spread the load enough to prevent any damage. I will slowly cover and move across the roof. I don't plan on driving on the flat roof section at all. We will apply a thin layer of soil via wheel barrel and shovel.

Sam - I enjoy reading your thread. We have one earth shelter in my area that was built probably 30 yrs ago. It was built by cutting a section of a hill and then using the fill to cover the roof after the rectangular cement house was built. The front is the only exposed wall and I understand that it is very energy efficient. Now for the reason I am responding is that I thought you might consider renting an excavator with a good size boom to reach out over the roof area w/o driving any equipment on it. You could also possibly find an area of your property that isn't solid rock and use the fill for the covering and creating a pond at the same time. Just an idea. No matter what happens in the future you will still have a house that is energy efficient and you and your family can be proud of owning. Good luck to you.
