A lot of cynicism in this post. Aren’t you guys all buying into the pixie dust Tesla’s put out when they catch fire?

So I’m not sure I understand, the truck wrecked and caught fire or it caught fire and then wrecked.

Tesla may have all the data, then again not much left of the tractor after the fire.

I have wondered if the computer does a sort of burst transmission of data directly after an impact is detected.

Most non complete loss Tesla accidents Tesla has a huge amount of data on what happened when, and whether it was driver input or the autosteer/FSD.

This is not a Tesla problem.

Once a lithium battery starts to overheat it produces its own oxygen to continue to cause the flare up to get hotter and hotter. You can't use water to put out the flame of a lithium battery burning, you can only cool it down to slow the self production of oxygen to keep the heat away from other things that might catch on fire.

It's kind of an residential area mixed with industrial area. They were advising for people to close their windows. Those fumes were getting pretty nasty.

It did start on a Tesla, apparently it was charging at the time it happened. Doesn't say in the article I shared but they said in the TV.

Last I saw the CHP was investigating if the driver fell asleep while the truck was rolling down the freeway ....

At the Laing road offramp from Fwy 80, I'm pretty sure you are far away from any recharging stations. I don't own and EV and cannot say for sure, but I sure haven't seen any in that area and I drive it quite frequently.
