Hey daBear you would be surprised how easy it is to weld with a decent mig welder. I am nowhere near a professional welder but I have no problem welding what I need done around my house. I just broke a tine on a Howse tiller (borrowed from cousin)the other day. I offered to buy him a new tine but he declined. So I tried welding it back together with pretty good results. Put it back on and run it back through the garden a few times with no problem.

Nice grill guard/bumper!! Had it been me, I would have made it tall enough to be level with the top of the hood. That's just my preference though, but since you probably won't be taking that one down into the really rough stuff, yours will do fine. The only other thing I would do would be to round off the corners on the little tongue for the trailer ball. I can see a shin catching the corner of it and someone cursing up a storm lol!!!

The hood wouldn't open if I made it any taller. I tried to make it look like the old-style MF that we used to have.
