Kinda hard to be a new guy with 7,171 posts.

Hijack! How is it going in your neck of the woods? What happened to your thread on your homestead build? I can't remember it's title.

We voted in Cedar Creek yesterday. No real wait. Hardest for me was the new electronic equipment. Had to get the driver's license read and scribbled my signature on the pad like they have at stores. Then the vote box had an electronic machine that you used the stylis (sp) to select vote, then the ballot was printed on paper and that was turned in at the old metal box.
It all seemed expensive and redundant. Is the ballot counted manually or is it recorded electronically? Just liked the old paper ballot that you blacked out the box for the candidate.
Things here are good, well, as good as they can be.
The thread is still there but I haven't updated it in a long time. After the heart attack I only venture outside to work about 6 months out of the year, when it is cool enough to be outside. The heat is real threat to me.

Good to hear from you Jack, hope the cooler weather helps you get things done. Be safe.
Jack,
It's cool today. Get outside, but take it easy.

Thanks Kyle, good to hear from you, I trust all is well in your world.
It was glorious this morning, I got quite a bit done.
Thanks LostcreekRanch.
Quietly waiting for the cold front. Yeah, right. I am gonna holler and celebrate the cool, I mean cold weather.
I voted yesterday. It was the longest I have ever waited to vote in Montgomery County. Dang, I spent 2 minutes outside, and about 15 minutes inside, waiting to vote.
Now, I am gonna rant. Please explain to me, why my voting place decided to have two lines (with two different entrances) and split the voting machines, 11 on one side of the room and 11 on the other side of the room. Only to have a vacant voting machine on one side of the room, and a person with his voting number ticket waiting for an open machine on the other side of the room. Can anyone explain this to me????????????????????

We have three early voting locations in Colorado County .. Columbus, Weimar, and Eagle Lake.
I went to Weimar City Hall this morning, walked in, showed my voter registration and ID, chose my ballot, voted, and walked out in less than 10 minutes. No lines, no waiting, friendly folks.
I drive by the Colorado County Court House annex, after lunch, and there some lines there.
Thanks LostcreekRanch.

Welcome to TBN, Fiddlearound.
Our voting machines have a dial you turn to select the candidates, changes the background color of each candidate's name. Then you push the enter button. When finished, we hit the submit vote button and we have voted. I never see any printouts.

Welcome and Howdy Fiddlearound, I'm guessing you live on the other side of Bastop from me.

Hope everything goes well and you get to do everything you have planned. I keep getting these lyrics stuck in my head when I think about things like this.
I'm in a hurry to get things done
Oh I rush and rush until life's no fun
All I really gotta do is live and die
But I'm in a hurry and don't know why.
.
I like it!
I can say I am no longer in a hurry, I will do what I can do when I want to do it.
I am also, no longer in a hurry. I retired last month. I was tired of the drive and when Covid 19 hit, I took off all spring and summer, then retired Less stressed too.
