With all this cold weather around us, it reminds me of Christmas. So here is a late Christmas photo taken after Christmas.

Wow, a girl gets busy with work and other projects for a few days, and all sorts of things happen around here. I'm just glad to have missed the precip with this cold spell. Next week doesn't look any too warm. I have a cord of wood stacked just outside the garage, but may add another half cord to it, this weekend. I did go play at an airport for a few minutes today. Still deciding which plane I want to buy and hangar there. Will probably be a newer hangar when I get a purchase in it, because one has to be rebuilt, thanks to the last big ice storm warping the roof. Waiting list at the MW airport for hangar space.

bindian: Get well and STAY well! I have someone else onboard for the trip to Oshkosh 2015! I am hoping to be taking an RV-6, and he will fly his bird as well! By the time we have to make hotel reservations, we might have a nice group!

Western; Glad to hear they found the issue with your mom, and that she is back to visiting with family.

Now, would y'all be so kind as to turn up the outdoor thermostat for the remainder of this winter? I have not finished hoeing my garden, and won't get it finished any time soon, if I keep having to take time to cut, haul and stack firewood.

Besides, how am I supposed to do my rain dance, with morning temps of 12 *?!?! And I need rain, but want the temps above freezing, when the precip does arrive!

Seriously, thanks for the concern, y'all. :cloud9: :cheerful:

Guess you can wear a thin T-shirt, socks and gloves for that 12 degree rain dance. :)

36* this morning and 8mph west wind, big improvement from yesterday, still fricken dry as a bone though. Weekend looks to be fairly reasonable:thumbsup:

Today is my grandson's birthday. He just turned 14. I got him a fishing pole and a tackle box full of everything he needs to go fishing for bass, catfish, and crappie. His grandma got him a Super Mario Bros. Cart game with steering wheels for his Wii U console. Guess which one he seemed to be most excited about? After all, as Farmgirl pointed out, it's still too cold to go fishing and my darn lake level is too low to take a boat out. When it warms up some, I know he's gonna be givin' my catfish heck. :D

Our pond is frozen solid and will be for some time if the weatherman has his way.
The birds are just struggling to stay alive.
We have Red Bellied peckers that live in the orchard in the summer but are usually all over the suet in winter. Haven't seen one for 3 days. The little guy on there has no competition.
The black oil sunflower seeds we had left over from last year (about a half bag) must have dried out too much over summer. They would not touch them. So we had to get a fresh bag. Never had that problem before.
I may have to plow snow next week if this keeps up:thumbdown:
So far the predictions have been way over what we actually got, which makes me happy.:)
