Lou, have you ever tried Vodka with cherry sprite? At least I think it was cherry sprite. Never before in my 47 years had I drank vodka til this past summer when daughter fixed me one in a big red solo cup. No, Toby Keith wasn't there. A friend and myself were playing washers at the daughter and son in laws and drinking beer when she brought out the vodka drink. I liked it. Then son in law came out with three shot glasses and some kind of cinnamon liquor (not Schnapps) which we had. Of course that just interrupted the beer drinking. I believe Farmgirl would have been proud of me that day.:D
On a side note, keep on with the poems and musings. I really enjoy them.

Who cares about Coke? Most Texans like 'made in Texas' Dr. Pepper better anyway.

Amen, t_b_s. I was weaned on Dr Pepper. My grandfather started working for DP in 1925 and worked for them till the day he died. We didn't drink coke in his house, but there was always plenty of DP.

When my son was in Iraq my sister found out there was no DP over there for the troops, so she started sending him a 12 pack of DP. The first time he call when he got the first 12 pack he was in hog heaven. Said he was keeping it under lock & key, but he was sharing with the fellow Texans in his co. My sister and I took turns sending him DP every couple of weeks for the rest of the time that he was over there.

For some of us Texans DP over ice when you've done with out it for a while might be better that whiskey. Sorry Lou......but I did say maybe.

Charlie

As for me and the missus, we both prefer Coke. In fact we drink way too much of that stuff. She doesn't like Dr Pepper at all. On occasion I will drink one just for the difference. I stop at Sonic every morning on the way to work and get a large Coke for $1.07. Have also found I like to chase my coffee with Coke. The flavors compliment each other really well. FG won't like this but can't drink vodka or beer for breakfast.

My wife told me it was 22 F when she got up this morning, but my thermometer reads 18.0 F right now with a bone-chilling wind outside. Still better than all those folks north and east of us. When we get our little dusting of snow over the next few days, some folks will be plowing steadily just to keep up with the snowfall. I feel lucky.

While doing a search yesterday, I discovered that Coke is the #1 cola, Pepsi is #2, and Royal Crown Cola is the #3 cola. Of course, Dr. Pepper and 7-UP aren't colas, so they didn't fall into that statistic, but I was surprised that RC was #3. Come to think of it, what other colas are there other than store brand copies? BTW: I tried Dr. Thunder that is supposed to be an imitation Dr. Pepper. Well. . . it ain't! That stuff is NASTY!

Thanks Robby, just the "1st step" I guess to make sure all is well.

Jim, you're right about "DR Thunder" didn't care for it much. I like RC and an occasional MR Pibb, but not really a soda drinker. I may have one every month or so. My favorite is a half froze Coke, or 7-UP, Like them in "slushy" fashion compared to regular.

The wife on the other hand, geez Diet Pepsi every day!!

Study released yesterday on FOX, 2 sodas a day for 2 months will net you an additional 5lbs of fat:shocked:
