Texas Fall/Winter thread!

My office is in Longview and I do not disagree with you about that town. Tyler is nicer for a bigger town. But I love east Texas. Living outside of a small town in the country is awesome.

I travel a lot to West Texas and am glad I do not live out there. I may would like Lubbock if I lived out in the farming areas on Cap Rock. Outside of that it is hot and dusty. The wind out there will blow you off your feet. Lol

Never been to NY state and may would like to see the country, but I have no desire to go to the City.

Wife worked in Longview right before Covid. We had a place off of Cotton. It is not the nicest city, but there are a few decent eateries. Rural East Texas is much better.

I've spent considerable time in NYC for work and driven from Erie, PA to Niagara and across to Albany and points east with the family. I would agree rural NY is superior to NYC, but between the policies and the weather, no way would I move there. If I wanted cold and snow, we could have stayed in Wisconsin.

I've always intended to spend some time in Upstate and Western NY but haven't yet. Still plan on it.

I love ALL of Texas. Haven't found a part I don't like, just some parts I like more than others.

Long ago, when Texas was becoming a state, the US senators were arguing (as usual) about the size of Texas and how to annex it. Some wanted to break it up into 5 separate states, but someone said something like "If you've seen 1 acre of west Texas, you've seen millions, there's nothing out there", and so they kept it 1 state. (Mainly because the original 13 colony states did not want 10 new senators voting against them).

Oh, and it ain't fall down here yet. Maybe Tuesday morning it will get down into the 57F range. But back up to high 88's the afternoon.

We don't usually get a freeze until mid December this far south.

We're already down to 77 here in FtW area. Highs are supposed to stay below 90 for the next week+. Had a little rain, too.

Finally felt like fall this morning 55F and a nice breeze. About half the girls at work were still wearing shorts.

We got a little touch of Fall but won't last long. It's 61 now and expected to hit 93. đźšś

To top it off, we're under an Air Quality Alert thanks to the big city. Ozone Action Day. :cautious:
