Rest in Peace
How long has Cooper's BBQ been there. I think it's been more than 30 years since we ate there.

I have a friend with his own airport and private plane who flies to Llano a couple of times per year just to eat at Coopers. I suspect he is really bored and just wants to go flying. That would be some expensive BBQ if that were the only reason.![]()
Any reason to fly is good and really good BBQ is worth a trip no matter how far. I'll even go to Dallas (and I don't like that trip) for Sonny Bryan's over on Inwood. A better trip is to Lockhart or Taylor where both have several World Class BBQ joints to choose from.

I had some decent BB-Q while working in East Texas Monday. Called "Texas Best Smoke House" surprisingly good and at a Shell travel plaza ta-boot!! I have eaten at two of them on I-20 near Tyler and Kilgore. Large portions and a 3 meat combo was only $12:thumb'vesup:
BTW, It is windy as heck! Storms on the way!!
I've got to look for that place next time. I was in Tyler yesterday and when I was by "Stanley's" the lot was full and you couldn't get in, so I passed it up. Later I ate at my favorite Tacoria in Tyler "El Lugar". A #7 burrito and it was great!!! A #7 & a Dr Pepper was $5 and change.
