We, as a tradition, always eat some Kraut on New Years day.
Kinda gets you movin for the new year, if you know what I mean.:)

So, since we had some leftover pizza from Sat. night we decided to try BlueRiver's suggestion.

We warmed the pizza for 10 minutes and then put kraut that was squeezed in a paper towel, not rinsed, on top of the cheese.
Then another 3 minutes in the oven. The Kraut was just starting to brown a little..

Delicious:licking::licking::licking:

We will put it under the cheese when we make our next pizza for the last 3 minutes.

Thank you BluRiver. A delicious topping that we would never have thought of.

Happy New Year to everyone. May you all have a healthy, prosperous 2014.
Ron

 I'm sure glad that it doesn't have that affect on me!

Might be looking at buying an airplane in a couple of weeks, or so. If I get it, I'll need to make a cross country journey in it. Picking up a bottle of Patron would be a good reason!

Been hanging around with too many pilots lately. It's a disease, I tell ya! I have been so good and keeping on budget, but I caught the "fever" again, and there is no getting rid of it, without "taking the cure"! By the time one buys a plane, pays for a hangar, and the Annual each year, and fuel, maintenance, etc., one could just rent something cheaper, when needed. But like I said, it is a sickness. :fever::fire::hot::fever::melodramatic:

Gotta get in and get my first class medical renewed, before I go much further.

Going after that bottle of Patron in an airplane reminds me of the night my brother called his wife while we were enroute from the Cessna factory to Anchorage. He told her, "We're being real careful; not smoking for 12 hours before we fly and not drinking near the gas pumps."

Make that a half of a bottle. Luke is here, remember?
Jose Cuervo tequila does do that........but not as much and hardly noticeable.
Jack Daniels or Crown with Coca-cola does nothing. Guess the coke takes it straight through, like tea.
Remember, I'm 6 minutes from CXO.

KHOU weather just said we had 38.84 inches of rain for 2013. He said we have a deficit of 10.93 inches for an annual total of 49.77 inches.

Half a bottle of Patron is still reason enough to take a cross country trip. Looking at 3 airplanes. Two are slower, but fun, and one would get me to CXO in less than 2 hours! Decisions! Decisions! :confused3:

I want a Super Cub.

J-3 is one that I am looking at, with Cessna 140 being another, and an RV-6 being the other. I'd be happy to play with any of them!

My buddy still has his J-3, hasn't offered it online or such. I could ask him what he wants for it. It's in pretty good shape as far as I know.

I'd be interested, if it is in really good shape. I guess he took the cure for the dreaded disease, for a little while. He'll want another, at some point. It's a terrible sickness, I'm telling ya!

He has a SuperCub that needs to be restored and a TriPacer that needs a bit to finish it up. Both have been in storage for a long time.

Well, it might have to be another bottle. This one is gonna go lower tonight. Buy all three and get volume discounts.

Kyle; TriPacer isn't a taildragger, so I'm not interested there. If Cub needs work, I'm not interested there either, unless it is REALLY cheap. Prefer to have something with a fresh annual when I get it. I'd also want the old 65 hp on the J-3. I like the old stock stuff.

Spent the day getting the garden ready. Started building the fountain, and hauled 20 loads of compost and tilled them in to the raised beds. Let that compost and soil rest for a bit. Want to start seeds in a week or so.

With 64* temps today, I began weeding in the garden area!

We never got that warm today. Were supposed to, but never made it. Cold front coming through tonight, high in the 50s the rest of the week. Heard it's going to be miserable down here next week.

So what's everyone planting this year?

Front came thru here about 2 hours ago. Wind is now from the north, and about 20ktsG30. Temps are dropping.

I'll plant my usual, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, early, then peppers, tomatoes, okra and squashes, once freezes are "supposed" to be history. I'm ready, becasue winter can't go away soon enough, for me!
