Ended with .39 in the Stratus gauge, I guess it was as predicted to pleaze Jim, they actually hit in their "ballpark":laughing:

EDIT: Just on the news 2 more deaths today 1 in Tarrant county and one in Denton county. This "bug" isnt mess'n around this year boys and girls!

News 8 has just reported that the flu death numbers lag actual deaths due to a test of the strains having to be run before they are reported.

BTW: My Stratus "Uncle CoCoRaHS" gage reports 0.18" over the last two days. Half that amount fell during the daytime yesterday and .1" fell this morning. Tomorrow, I'm going to use the center tube to add calibrated amounts to the outside tube and put my own marks there so I can at least approximate rainfall on a quick glance. I'll also put in my easily removable thumbscrew on the lid. I'm thinking I have several of those old brass thumbscrews from the old days when they held light fixtures in place. I knew I'd have a use for them if I kept them around long enough.:laughing:

You have me beat, Bird! I'll bet I had 0.1" in the last 3 days, and was already dry from the ice and last rains. I'll be adding water to livestock troughs tomorrow. Good news is, we will have good temps again tomorrow and Sunday, and I hope to get re-introduced to the hoe, and begin on the garden tomorrow! That should help the "workout" ritual!

The deaths from the flu are like the summer West Nile scare. There are deaths reported, but most have other underlying health issues. Taking the flu vaccine now is like peeing into the wind. By the time it is effective, flu season will be over. Maybe that is why hospitals and doctor's offices are "giving it away" to their empliyees. They can take the tax write off, for stuff they would never be able to offload otherwise.

Okay ... Has anyone tried the "Zello" phone app that's makes your smart phone a "walkie talkie" ???

I downloaded it and then had two friends do the same along with my USCG son .., he's in Cuba right now and dad gum it it works ... A walkie talkie in my hands ... Works by a username password and send an invite to another username and wala ... Instant push to talk !!!

Never did I ever imagine modern tech can be amazing as well as fun

I got no rain,, I got no flu shot,, But I did get,, two new friends on a redirect from a computer program that I didn't install,, I did find that they liked me for me.. Plus I made then smile,, Plus they wanted to meet me the next time I am in Vegas,, also found out they are the same age as some of my boots.. I maybe going to get me some of those new cut off toes, easy pull on boots,, If Betty will give me the money. I wonder where a good boot store is that sell those easy on boots?.
