With all this rain, I wish I could fit in another pond. Just don't have the room here!
HAPPY NEW YEAR hugs, Brandi

Just keep digging away and make yours bigger ... don't forget to leave a drive an entrance to the island !!! Happy New Year!!

I am willing to haul my L3901 tractor with FEL and dump trailer to damaged areas to help in any way I can. I have a 4500 watt gas generator and a 15kw pto generator that I can bring as well to supply temporary power. If you have a friend in need contact me here.

What a kind offer. I have often thought of an "army" of TBN volunteers that could go into an area and help possibly with chain saws and Front end loaders.

Got a tractor split, back half in the garage, front half by the shed. Second tractor waiting to go in the garage and be split so I can put the front on the first tractor. Too wet to move the second tractor up hill to the garage and too cold to work on it if I could. Boy, this Texas weather! I do not like the wet and the cold. That why I do not duck hunt. Maybe next week it will dry out some and the temperature will stay above 50 degrees.

Same here about the cold and wet. I just got the engine back in my car after a long process. Fortunately I have a barn, but I've done quite a bit of work on the gravel driveway before I had a barn.

My Grandpa was in the 4th, back in WWII. He was a great man.

BR,
That will be the first large project for the CAT. I am hoping to swing a small dumptruck this spring and enlarge the island pond. I may even take out the island. I am thinking about it and build an 8 x8 foot floating island. The ducks love the island when the pond is full, but never get on it at "low tide".

Is this the same car engine you wanted me to change after I changed my friend's truck engine, last year?

HAPPY NEW YEAR, Y'all! Today was the first day we all could get together for Christmas. I grilled T bones and baked potatoes (with the recipe off of this thread), then we exchanged presents. Then we went outside in the drizzle and launched about 4 dozen mortar shells. Chloe loved it all! Oh yeah, I grilled petite sirloins strips for her!

Yep, at first, decision making about money and the price of parts hampered progress. Then I bought a salvage engine for the cam and it had a bad cam too. No one makes aftermarket cams for year models 2003-2005. I finally found a guy to sell me a discount GM camshaft but they were backordered. He put me on the "first in line" list but it still took 5 months to get it...

I wondered how many people would recognize the patch.
I made a lot of good friends in the Army. A lot of good people.
Would not have missed it for a million bucks.
Would not do it again for a million bucks. But I am starting to rethink that last part. If fact I think I would give a million bucks to be physically able to do it again.

Seems like more and more manufacturers are not keeping older inventory like they used to do. I love the TV show.................Junkyard Empire
Y'all might find this article, about a mechanic, interesting. Seems their are more out there like me.

Yes, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was in high school and A&P School in the years you were serving.
1975 or so they did away with the draft and lots of class mates were relieved. In my mid 20s, I wanted to enlist in the Army to be a WOC and fly choppers. I gained more sense since then. lol

Brandi;

You should have done it. The military experience, training, etc. would have been more valuable than you will ever believe, not to mention GI Bill Education support. GI Bill and my post USAF employer paid 100% for my University of Houston Education. I did 4 years active and another 3 years with Texas Air National Guard, 147th Fighters at Ellington.

OH! Did I mention that the Cougars won the Peach Bowl yesterday? :)

Rick,
I was already in aviation with an A&P license. I would have had to jump though too many hoops too enlist and work up to being a WOC, with no garantees of becoming a WOC. Also I would have been away for my kids for too long.
