!@#$% weather guys anyway .....!@#$%;) ......I'm trying to move out of my house so it can get repaired from flooding but the !@#$% weather is just not cooperating! I took a load to the country this past weekend and had to switch from truck to tractor to get the trailer backed into the barn -- I don't have a good driveway put down yet so it was too muddy for the truck. I need to take another load during this week ...looking like Wed right now ... and guess we'll just get wet. No other way around it. !@#$% weather anyway.....Just proves my point about my job ... we're in advertising - not production - complaints about the product have to be submitted directly to "The Boss" .... but he doesn't seem to be listening to me of late. Wonder if the union can help me with this one?

Mike, I can sympathize with that. I'm assuming that you have flood insurance where you live. We should never need it, but I bought it last week anyway because some places around here flooded that have never flooded in the last 150 years. This morning we had a very brief shower and got about .01", then this afternoon, we had a bigger shower and I got about .35", and right now thunder and lightning and a frog stranglin' gully washer again. I don't know if it'll last long enough to give us a lot tonight, but it's coming down fast enough for my big old rain gutter to run over and it's not because it's stopped up; it's coming out the downspouts like they were fire hoses.

I barely got that last message posted before the electricity went off, but fortunately wasn't off very long. And now it's settled down to just a good steady rain. At 12:15 p.m. today, we had a very brief downpour that only put about .01" of rain in the gauge, then about 3:40 p.m. to 4 p.m. we had a pretty good shower that put another .36" of rain in the gauge, and now in the last hour, we've gotten another 2" of rain in the gauge. So here at my house, we have now, in less than 6 months, surpassed the average annual rainfall for this area.

Mike, we got another inch today and it looked like on the other side of the hills (your area) it rained more. That makes 7" in the last 8 days. How is the creek on your place? We have baby frogs all over the place, hundreds! Yesterday the 4th copperhead by the cabin was put out of service when he attacked the front tractor tire. It seems like once the FEL passed over him he would realize it might be best to get off the road, not coil up and strike?!?

It rained again this afternoon. The bulk of it droped in ten minutes and put half an inch in my gauge. Then over the next few hours another quarter inch fell to give me 1 3/4 inches for the day.

The weather forecast just predicted up to three inches tomorrow.

This is sure the weirdest wether ever.

We had 0.7" yesterday and another 0.5" overnight. I was going to cut some weeds in our garden last night, but that ain't happenin'. I sure hope it slows down some by this weekend when I'm preparing for the 4th fireworks. We'll see....

DON: It seems you suddenly have more copperheads this year than ever before. Am I right?

yeah -- they sure do .... for the next 30 months anyway .... doesn't mean I can't complain about the weather though , after all -- everybody does it! Gonna have to spend a little more time on my knees talking to the boss about this production problem though.

Mike, we got another inch today and it looked like on the other side of the hills (your area) it rained more. That makes 7" in the last 8 days. How is the creek on your place? No idea about the creek - I'm sure it's up but haven't taken the time to walk back there. We were there just long enough to unload, go to the trailer for a shower and go to supper around 7:30. Then it was back to Angleton first thing in the a.m. I thought I was going to take another load tomorrow - but it looks like my helper may be out. My son had a wisdom tooth removed on Fri and it's been giving him a little trouble, but this a.m. he got up with one side of his face about twice the size of the other, so he may be out of commission. Guess my next load will just have to wait. It's suppose to rain anyway....AGAIN.

Mike, I can sympathize with that. I'm assuming that you have flood insurance where you live. Bird - My house is not in a flood plain so flood insurance was not required ....but being the pessimist that I am - I've had flood insurance..and it is sure coming in handy now. First estimates for damage are around $55,000 and the insurance will cover enough of it that it shouldn't cause any major financial problems for us. We'll spend over that - but mainly due to updates / upgrades. When you get lemons ......make lemonade ...right?
