We used to have those sorry bikers in the west end of Navarro County a couple of times a year. So you could expect to get behind a bunch who very expertly spaced themselves to prevent any motor vehicles from passing for 10 to 15 miles.

Actually had a small sprinkle, didnt amount to anything, but I called mowing the yard anyhoo:laughing: Looks like Jim may get the same one, but It looks bigger now.

Ya know, this mowin' stuff is a goin' 'roun'. It must be one of them vy-ruskies that we all catch in the summer.;) I spent the better part of the mornin' mowin' my little piece o' heav'n right after I watered my beans, snow peas, and onions. I haven't watered my yard since the last rain and it still looks great. If I don't get a shower today, I'll probably have to sprinkle some tomorrow.

I picked half a big coffee can full of cherry tomatoes this morning and a few just ripening big tomatoes. I hate to take a chance that the critters will get my first ripe fruit, so I brought them into the house to ripen on the window sill. In the next couple of days, I'll have a super fantastic almost the size of my fist, but you just can't beat the flavor of cherry tomatoes. We have so many squash right now that we are in heavy give-away mode to neighbors and relatives. Heck! The real production hasn't even got started.

Tomorrow is Father's Day and bean pickin' day. My wife parboiled and put 12 quarts of beans and snow peas in the freezer yesterday. The heat is hard on the snow peas, but blackeyes love the heat. I saw my first blooms on my blackeyes this morning. They are putting out runners like crazy and growing like gangbusters.

EDIT: I just looked at the radar because I heard rumbling. I'm gonna run out and roll the windows down in car so it will work as a rain magnet. There's a nice little shower coming up from the south that might drop some lawn-water here if it holds its current track.

Jim, I gt exactly 1/2" of rain from that storm and it's bigger now as it heads your way. Get the recliner out on the porch, you'll love it

I don't think it helped my rain chances.

It flattened out and I just got a few hundredths of an inch. It looks like more is on the way, but so far it's west of FG19 and you. It's all good this time of year, but I'm not even remotely close to half an inch.

I don't even know what that means.. someone is going to have to show me..:laughing:Lou

I can do that, Lou! If there's music, I'm probably dancing! (And if there is none, sometimes I just dance to the song in my head!) :cool2:

So far, the stuff west of me has too much of a northerly track to get to me. But as long as it is there, there is a chance it could move just a little more easterly. (Come here, little rain shower. Come and see me!)

 Easier if you stay and live around it, Like you, Lou, Scott and a few others. For me, Its like getting slapped in the face by a horses tail when I get down there and get out of the truck:laughing:

Dennis,
Yes, humidity is a little easier to take if you grew up in it. We have a Lead Mechanic that is from Pakistan and he was wearing long sleeve shirts all week while the rest of us had our short sleeve shirts soaking wet. I have never seen him sweat.

Yes, bindian, we try to forget. I know turning 29 this last time was hard! I fear that I might one day actually hit 30!

FG19,
That is so funny. I have said I was 29 and holding so many times, some friends of mine gave me a coffee cup that says..................29 and holding..........and that has been a "few" years ago. lol What is funnier is I don't drink coffee. Hey, you can call me Brandi if you want.
hugs, Brandi

I guess wearing a long sleeved shirt in the heat seems a little odd to most of us, but my Dad, and his Dad, never owned a short sleeved shirt. They wore long sleeves year round all their lives.

That is funny! I need a mug like that, and I do drink coffee, more than I probably should!

Bird,
When mowing or working dirt in the sun.........I wear a cotton long sleeve Wrangler work shirt. To keep the sun off my fair skin. I wear the work shirt unsnapped over a t shirt. It really helps cooling when the wind blows this way. Hauling and moving hay is another place I wear a long sleeve work shirt. I hate hay dust and loose straw sticking to sweaty arms.
