I do too, Bird. Especially with the savings on heating/cooling. I'm getting too old to do all that staining anyhow.

We moved last time because to many rules. When we lived there from 1986 to 2007 it started out very private and rural, closest store one hour away then people moved in for they liked its rural setting but wanted street lights sidewalks trash pickup stores etc. then cows were not supposed to moo after 9:00PM no barking dogs, loud music, tractors running etc after 9:00PM. We got to where we did not enjoy living there so moved to 21 acres and hopefully can stay here. Understand where you're coming from

These are some of the same reasons we want to get out of Houston. Can not stand the traffic, and the "me first" attitude that is prevalent around here. Had a large oak tree in front yard that was planted too close to the house. Was causing foundation damage and was hitting against the siding. About a week after taking it down I got a nasty-gram from the home owners assoc. saying that I was supposed to ask permission before removing the tree!

We want to be able to sleep with the windows open and not hear cars and motorcycles wizzing by. I can't wait until I can sit on my front porch and watch the cattle grazing in the field.

OK here's my attempt to put up a picture of all the grandkids with the newby, and the ones on each end are cousins. As you can imagine it was a houseful but a lot of fun.

Charlie,
Keep'em coming. You almost have enough to field a baseball team.

Once the little one gets on his feet, you will have enough for a baseball team.
You have a beautiful family.

Sorry Brandi, I didn't see your quote when I typed mine. Looks like on opening day we both have baseball on our minds.

Wow! Charlie. How did you get them all to sit still long enough to snap the photo? Great picture, Paw-Paw.

Jim-- The Boys and the Daughters-in-laws are doing a great job of parenting. All are being brought up with manners and knowing how to mind, which seems to not be the norm now-a-days. It is truly a joy to be around them.

Denise is so excited because she's going to be the Godmother to the newest arrival, Avery.

Looks like a cattle show weekend. Galveston County Friday not and then down to Angleton on Sunday. My daughter has a Red Brangus heifer and cow/calf pair. She is the one who got us into this country stuff!

Dennis-- The next time they are here and the weather cooperates we're going out to the tank to let them fish. I remember the first time I took the boys years ago, when they were young, they worked my tail off. They asked me when I was going to fish and I told them they would have to stop fishing if they were going to give me a chance to fish. This time I'll let the dads do most of the work, but the fishing poles are ready.
