Texas Spring/Summer Thread

Trailered the horse to a lesson on the northwest side of San Antonio (just southeast of Boerne). Rained ALMOST the entire way home. Got home to dry ground and no rain. Missed it by that much. Rain stopped 1/2 mile from our house. Rats.

Oklahoma report ... .75 inches Saturday morning .. 1.7 inches early Sunday morning ... And this mornings storm 3.4 inches ..

It appears that our rain is all over, so I just went out and poured about .65" out of the gauge, so that makes my 2 day total about .9". It may not do much for the drought and our reservoirs, but it sure helps my lawn. I mowed 5 days ago and already it appears to be in dire need of mowing.

Got another 1.25 today. Two day total 2.35. Pastures are really looking good for almost middle of June. Best since 2010, run off came fast, small spring creek ran freely. HS

Bird I mowed ,fertilized and watered last Thursday. Needs mowing...Yesterday!

.2 overnight. Very impressive light show-but no cloud to ground-all cloud to cloud. Skies above us were clear. All lightening activity was south.

Think all the lighting was in Colorado County. We had a big overnight show and 1 1/2" in the rain gauge when I left for Houston at 4 am.

Dennis, I've been thinking that if I was smart, I'd try to sell that little Toro ZTR, with the bagger kit, with the trailer, and with the Mojack EZ lift and hire one of the many lawn services in the area.:laughing:

I have had internet server problems. While I was out, I lost track of daily rain totals. But I do know it is pushing 15 inches in the last 3 weeks.
