I only going to get five to eight inches of rain here on the gulf coast.. hope it is one of those slow soaker,, cause everything here is already full.. the creeks and bayous are still up from the last rain.. a few days ago.. Well the good thing about it, is what my old grandpa said about rain,, He said it cleans the land.. course he lived on a mountain.. and I live on the gulf coast, so we gets all that cleaning I guess.. I thinking grandpa and me may disagree about that cleaning and where it runs too.. lol. stay dry but be sure to stay afloat.. . Lou

We are having a break in rain so, went out to check / dump rain gauges. A little over 2 1/2" so far. More coming.

We got right at 5 inches of rain in the last 8 hours. Seems to be a lull right now. We are in the middle of it now.

Another 3 1/2" overnight and still raining. That's 6" so far.

We have almost 4 1/4" in a 24 hour period here in Wylie. I got up this morning to find a turbine vent from someone's roof in my front yard. It turned out to be mine.
Three weeks ago $13,000.00 damage according to State Farm to the house. Then this week we can add holes big enough to stuff my fist through in the roof through the decking. Lucy got a windshield taken out, literally, meet with that adjuster in the morning. Saturday the State Farm guy will be back out to evaluate the new damage.
State Farm adjuster was in Wylie when the last storm hit. He had a window van with desk etc. By the time it had blown by he was in the middle of the van with his jacket over his head, all glass gone in van, totaled. Auto repair shops in area are saying it will be late fall for some repairs to be complete. Car rentals are gone for hundreds of miles.
In the photos is some of an R Panel roof on a bud's business that I taped up. I've seen other metal roofs with holes in them like what was in my shingle roof. Brand new Hardy siding over chipboard wall hit so hard the ice went through the Hardy, the Chipboard, and then ruined hardwood floor.
Hail Wylie, all powerful.

BTW if you find your local used car dealer closed up you can find him in the Wylie area selling roof repairs. Storm chasing pukes are stomping all over us and each other. This morning there are a lot of roofers redoing their temporary patches after yesterday's storm, 4" rain here at my house.
Insurance companies are doing the double deductible adjustments because two different storms. Even if after the first storm nothing has been done except some light temporary repairs. If you google Wylie hail storm there are hundreds of videos of the event, unbelievable.

I was going to call to see how you and Glenda were doing with that storm, and found that I've lost your phone number. So I'm glad to see you on here; just sorry to hear you had so much damage. Good luck with dealing with the insurance companies and getting the damage repaired.

Maybe too late, but possibly don't turn in a 2nd claim and just tell them you believe it happened on the 1st storm???
Storm chasing roofing companys....Don't give them a dime until the job is complete to your satisfaction.

Well. What an interesting day this has been.
Left the house for the office. We had some rain and wind last night, but nothing. All heck broke loose in Houston. Getting to the office was a two hour journey. The street around my office was more like a moat. Good thing I drove the truck. None of the staff was able to make it in. Closed the office. Took me three hours to get home. By the time I left the office at 9ish, the highways were shut down in places.
And tomorrow is another day. Rinse, repeat(?)
