The storm line looks like it is just about to whack us here in Ft Worth, wait is whacking us. The wind before the line was what was a booger.

Saw the damage in Ft. Worth from the winds and several overturned Semi's on the interstate.

New rain gauge:thumbsup: shows exactly 1 3/4"!! Not bad for 1hr of rain.

Well, the wind blew hard from the south just before the storm, and then I watched as it stopped and started back from the northwest. I was hoping for a decent rain, but it came through like a little ol' lady drivin' in the left lane of the freeway at 55. I got exactly 1/2" in my gage so far. They say more is due later.

Dennis, you must have had a powerful cell park over your house. We had nothing I would even call a downpour.

Tell you what Jim, a couple of times it got "hairy" had allot of rotation, could see small "tails" whipping .. Moved on to Decatur, then Pete Delcuse comes on and mentions the rotation, Had some good hail , but not to bad.

I think from looking at the radar it was the Biggest cell in this round.

We lost satellite TV reception for maybe 20 minutes, hard rain for about a half inch, then lighter rain. It's been a windy day, but I don't think there was any damage in my area.

We've had maybe 1.2" of rain overnight. It's been steady, but slow with some lightning/thunder, but absolutely no wind. I'll try to get a photo of my ponds posted in that thread when it gets light enough to take pictures from my 3rd floor balcony. It's also really cool here this morning at 50 degrees.

Thunder and lightning started about 1:30 and is still going on. Checked the rain Gauge about 6:30 and we have 3 5/8 inches......WOW. Still raining and it looks like we have another line of storms behind this one. Our road to town is flooded so the wife had to take the round-about way to work. Luckily there doesn't seem to be any wind damage and the Electric Co-op is not reporting any confirmed outages. I'll go check some more now that it is getting light outside.

Keep the hatches battened down.

So far my gauge is just over 3.5" and still raining.

3.7" Wife also was delayed till the "dry creek" that blocks our exit, could go down enough to get the truck across.

For some reason it just looks "Greener" outside.

Looks like it's over for us; all the rain has moved on east. I just went out and poured about 3.84" out of my gauge.

3.84"?? Bird, that's a big "bottle top":D Sounds like you and I have the newest and bestest rain gauges:laughing: Actualy I didn't find the one I wanted ( comes with a yearly total dial), but the one I have doesn't have a hole in it:laughing::thumbsup:

Wow! It appears Delkus really told the truth this time. His map showed us at 1-2 inches and the rest of you at progressively higher numbers. Every once in awhile, the weather guessers get it right.:D

I was up at 5 watching the radar over my Ranchito getting ready to head that way. It looks like I won't even be able to make it up the drive. The last weather we had to go through there the driveway was a muddy mess. I still need to go to at least check things out.

They did get it right about the worst being east of Dallas. Hit us at 12:30 this morning, 60 mph winds, I though the ceiling fans on the porches were going to be blown down. Wicked thunder and lightning, took a hard hit at 3:35 am, took out the DirecTV power unit, blew several arc fault breakers and some GFIs. Went to town at 10:00, had to move several limbs off the driveway that were down. Rain gauge overflows at 5" so I don't have a total. Ponds around me are overflowing and pastures have lots of standing water. It is still raining with some heavy stuff on the backside, but it is starting to clear to the west.

Glad everyone is okay.

I'm at 2 inches. My small pond is now full and I'm unsure about my big pond. I was 3 ft down, so it's not enough to fill it, but I am getting nervous that I might not get the concrete poured at the spillway. Mud makes it impossible to get a concrete truck down there, and I haven't done anything to it since pouring the pad. Time to HUSTLE!!!!!

Rain.... Rain.... sure beats the drought. My potatos probably going to rot in the ground. Onions, corn, lettuce, cabbage, brocolli, radishes, spinach and cauliflower planted a couple of weeks ago should enjoy the moisture. Found an old hiller/bedder yesterday on Craigslist and snatched that up quick. I have some work to do to it, but I can hardly wait, no more manually hilling potatos... what a chore... I just love tractors. Gotta wait for it to dry now and it looks like rain all week. Still have a pond out on my lease that needs A LOT of water. Other ponds have already refilled. Been lovin' the mild winters but the mosquitoes are bad now....

Regards,

Bart

Finally stopped raining and the total for this episode is 5 1/4 inches. Just went to the pasture and the creek and the word that comes to mind is "Soggy". Doesn't seem to be any wind damage at first look.
